Battle Cup (BC)
The Battle Cup (or BK) in Dota 2 is a competitive event in a single elimination format. Teams of 5 players can participate. The Battle Cup takes place on Saturdays. To participate, you must purchase a ticket for $1 or have a Dota Plus subscription.
Team matching is determined by tournament tier. If team members have different ranks, the Battle Cup will use the highest tier of the team's player.
There are six tiers in total, corresponding to the ranks of the rating system:
- Tier 3: Crusader and below;
- Tier 4: Archon;
- Tier 5: Legend;
- Tier 6: Ancient;
- Tier 7: Divine;
- Tier 8: Immortal.
Players can choose to participate at a higher tier than their current rank.
Rewards for winning the Battle Cup:
- A special Battle Cup trophy and its icon next to your nickname (for one week);
- Unique mini-profile theme (for one week);
- Seven special emoticons (for one week);
- Exclusive Battle Cup statue;
- 20,000 Dota Plus shards for each player.
