The best builds at Nest of Thorns in Act 4 of Crownfall

Magic build in Nest of Thorns

The best character to build through the magic damage type is Dragonus (Skywrath Mage), due to his innate skill Scion of Skywrath, which adds one more projectile to skills. This boost also affects the Spirits ability, on which the magic build is based. It must be maxed out and boosted with Aghanim from the mini-boss, which will make the skill permanently active. With Spirits, you can quickly farm experience from mobs and easily take down the Empire due to the high DPS of the ability. 

The following abilities (arranged in descending order of usefulness) will be a good choice to build with Spirits:

• Chain Frost
• Laguna Blade
• Magic Missile
• Frostbite
• Mortimer Kisses

Key items for magic build:

• Specialist's Array
• Phylactery
• Kaya (can be improved into Kaya and Yasha/Trident)
• Octarine Core

Physical build in Nest of Thorns

Kez is best for physical build: the innate ability Spot Weakness will sometimes apply a debuff on the strongest enemies, making the next hit on them critical. Key abilities: Counter Helix and Stampede. It is also important to get Aghanim for Counter Helix from the mini-boss (not necessary for Stampede).

While Stampede is active, you are invulnerable, but being hit will trigger Counter Helix (with the Aghanim, the ability triggers every time you are attacked), although you take no damage. So, while Stampede is active, run into a crowd of enemies, and kite them while it's recharging. Annihilation and Swashbuckle abilities will be a good addition to this build

Heart of Tarrasque and Blade Mail are key items, and Crystalys/Daedalus and Octarine Core will also be extremely useful.

Hybrid build in Nest of Thorns

A combo build that combines the strongest abilities of the previous two builds. Best to build on Shen (Vengeful Spirit), but only when you have enough character improvements, as this build requires you to farm experience and items effectively early on.

Key abilities Spirits, Counter Helix, and Stampede. Aghanim for Spirits and Counter Helix are needed again. Spirits will impose a debuff from Shen's innate ability Unending Terror, which will greatly increase damage from Counter Helix and other abilities that deal physical damage.
