“2025 was my worst year, I was at rock bottom”, — Xtreme Gaming support summed up the season

Xtreme Gaming support Jian Wei xNova Yap summed up his personal results of 2025, speaking about a difficult period in his career. At the beginning of the year, the esports player faced serious psychological issues that affected both his life and his game.

2025 was possibly the worst year of my life, but at the same time it was full of surprises. At the start of the year, I was at the lowest point of my life and career, I had hit rock bottom. Fear of flying, a constant feeling of being lost, self-doubt, and depression. I gave everything to my career, yet things only got worse. It was extremely hard and emotionally draining.

After several months away, xNova tried life outside of esports, but in the second half of the year he gradually returned to the scene and, according to him, began to perceive competition and his own abilities differently.

In the middle of the year, everything started to change. I played in a tournament again and reconnected with friends and former teammates. Now I truly enjoy every moment of playing and competing. I managed to understand myself better and regain my confidence. It felt like I was reborn.

Jian Wei spent the first half of 2025 competing with OG Esports. During that stretch, the team placed 4th at RES Regional Champions, finished 10th at BLAST Slam I and secured 3rd place at Asian Dragon Series: Continental Collision. Shortly after, the player joined Azure Ray, but the roster disbanded following a failed run in the qualifiers for The International 2025.

Despite that setback, xNova still made it to The International 2025, but with Xtreme Gaming. He initially joined the team as a stand-in before earning a spot on the main roster. From there, results began to climb: a 2rd place at The International 2025, 3rd place at Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi, and 4th place at DreamLeague Season 27. The team also featured in nearly every tier-1 tournament toward the end of the year.

Xtreme Gaming’s next tournament will be BLAST Slam VI, which the team qualified for through regional qualifiers. In addition, the roster has received a direct invite to DreamLeague Season 28, with both events set to take place in February.

BLAST Slam VI will run from 03.02.2026 to 15.02.2026. The main stage will be held from 13.02.2026 to 15.02.2026 in Malta, where twelve teams will battle for a $1,000,000 prize pool. DreamLeague Season 28 will follow shortly after, running online from 05.01.2026 to 01.03.2026.

Earlier, Cyberscore reported that a former OG player had announced he was looking for a new team.
