LGD.Forever Young is the second roster of the Chinese organization LGD Gaming, formed in September 2016.

The team rose to become one of China’s strongest squads and, just one year later, emerged as one of the biggest breakthroughs on the professional scene, finishing in third place at The International 2017.

2016–2017

In September 2016, The International 2014 champion Zhang xiao8 Ning and LGD Gaming main roster player Yao Yao Zhengzheng formed the new LGD.Forever Young roster, which also included Du Monet Peng, Su Super Peng, and Luo lpc Puchao.

In its very first year, the Chinese team qualified for the Mars Dota 2 League 2016 Autumn and The Boston Major 2016. However, they failed to achieve high finishes, which led to the first roster changes.

Early in 2017, xiao8 announced he was taking a break from his career, while Yao returned to the main roster of LGD Gaming. Almost immediately, the organization introduced their replacements: Xiao Jixing Jihao and Lei SangSang Yipei.

However, they remained with the team for only a few months, and by May, He Inflame Yunzheng, Tui Ahfu Sun Chuan, and Leong ddc Fat Meng—who replaced lpc—had joined the roster.

During the season, the team won the Dota 2 Professional League 2017 S2, finished in the top three at EPICENTER 2017 and the Mars Dota 2 League 2017, and their biggest achievement was a third-place finish at The International 2017. Throughout the tournament, the team lost only to Newbee and the eventual champions, Team Liquid.

2018

Following a successful season, the organization faced frequent roster changes, which negatively impacted the team’s results. Throughout the year, players who had previously competed under the tag LGD.Forever Young came and went from the roster.

The team continued to compete regularly in qualifiers and participated in The Bucharest Major and ESL One Birmingham 2018, but was unable to replicate the success of the previous season.

Following a disappointing performance in the qualifiers for The International 2018, the organization disbanded the roster, and Monet and Ahfu moved to Royal Never Give Up. This marked the end of LGD.Forever Young’s story.
