Wildcard Gaming is a North American esports organization founded in 2017. The club went through multiple Dota 2 lineups, and the most successful chapter in its history was 2025, when the team reached The International for the first time.

2021-2023

In December 2021, the organization signed the D2 Hustlers roster and debuted on the professional Dota 2 scene.

The lineup included Luke Yamsun Wang, José esK Pérez, Cedric Davai Lama Deckmyn, Aleksandar Alexxo Diklich, and Samuel Sammyboy Anderson.

For most of the time, the team competed in Dota Pro Circuit events and in qualifiers for major championships.

In 2022, the club temporarily paused its Dota 2 efforts but returned at the end of the year with a new roster that lasted only a few months.

Throughout the following season the team repeatedly rebuilt its lineup, bringing in players such as Yawar YawaR Hassan, Arif MSS Anwar, Ricardo Alone Fernandez, Francis RCY Fundemera, Tommy Taiga Le, and Jacob Husky Fifik.

Despite the many changes, Wildcard Gaming regularly played in North American qualifiers and second-tier events. The team's best result was first place at DPC NA 2023 Tour 3: Division II.

2025

After the 2023 season, the organization disbanded its roster and returned to Dota 2 only in January 2025, signing the Apex Genesis lineup.

It included Yamsun, RCY, Victor Fayde Zuev, Danil Bignum Shekhovtsov, and Paul Speeed Boccichio, under coach Radu BNC Ionut Musat, who had taken the position only half a year before the signing.

The new roster quickly became one of the strongest in North America. The team won the regional qualifier for The International 2025, earning the organization's first-ever ticket to the year's flagship event.

At the championship itself, Wildcard advanced through the group stage but fell to PARIVISION in the first round of the playoffs, finishing in the top-13. This result stands as the club's best achievement in Dota 2.

Immediately after The International, the squad qualified for DreamLeague Season 27, though it ultimately did not play the event. In October the organization announced the roster's disbandment, after which the players continued under the Apex Genesis tag.
