Bio
Maksym Shigetsu Popadynets is a Ukrainian professional Dota 2 player who plays in the first position. His signature characters are Weaver, Slark, and Ursa.
Shigetsu first appeared on the professional scene at the Dota 2 Champions League Season 4 in September 2021, playing for the Eastern European stack qwerty. The team did not make it past the group stage and ended their participation in the tournament, but the young esports player was able to make a name for himself even then. Representatives of the new cybercats organization at that time became interested in Maxim and invited him to test games, where he showed his best, which became the reason for his joining the team.
As a member of the new team, Maxim initially participated in the Dota 2 Champions League tournaments, but in May 2022, he managed to pass the open qualifiers for the second division of the DPC League for Eastern Europe. In the regional championship, cybercats consistently held the middle of the standings for two rounds, while shigetsu, as many members of the esports community argued, had long outgrown this team.
The strong mechanical qualities of the Ukrainian curler did not go unnoticed, and after a while, shigetsu bought out PuckChamp, which was rumored to be financially supported by Natus Vincere. Maxim's first test in the new team was the Xmas Show tournament, where the team took 7-8th place. After that, shigetsu took part in the DPC EEU 2023 Tour 1: Division II, which resulted in a ticket to the first division of the Eastern European Regional Championship.
Due to this successful result, Natus Vincere officially signed PuckChamp, and Maksym became the main player of the first position of the Ukrainian organization.
In 2023, he registered for the closed qualification for ESL One Kuala Lumpur with NaVi. And later he tried to qualify for The International 12, but failed to get into the main part. In the same year Maxim won one of the Ukrainian events. 2024 started with qualification for DreamLeague Season 22 and ESL One Birmingham, but the result was disappointing again.
- On March 8, 2024 shigetsu was transferred to NaVi inactive. Maxim stayed inactive for several months and left the team.
On May 30, it became known that shigetsu and Mellojul joined the Daxak team to participate in the qualifiers for the upcoming major tournaments. However, the guys failed to qualify for the Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024.
The player later continued competing with DMS, but failed to achieve any significant results. After some time, he left the team and took part in qualifiers for major tournaments with various lesser-known stacks. This continued until April 2025, when he joined the newly formed Runa Team roster and made his debut at European Pro League 26.
On May 17, the team participated in the FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In qualifier for the main FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 tournament, but after losing in the lower bracket semifinal of the playoffs, they were eliminated from the competition. In June, Runa Team became the champion of CCT Season 2 Series 1.
On August 20, Maksym shigetsu Popadinets left Runa Team.
On October 29, the player as part of Team Tea became the champion of European Pro League Season 31.
