Akbar SoNNeikO Butaev - Russian professional player of the 5th position, one of the best captains in the CIS. He is best known for his performances for Natus Vincere, which he helped to keep afloat during the roster crisis.
SoNNeikO started his cybersport activity in 2014. Akbar was invited by Power Rangers on a permanent basis and together with him took 2nd place at Trilogy Cup and 7th place at XMG Captains Draft 2.0. The young player also helped the team to qualify for the first time for the major - Dota 2 Asia Championships 2015.
- Later it became known that SoNNeikO will represent Natus Vincere in a difficult period for the club.
The team reached the 2nd place of DreamLeague Season 3 and won the qualifiers for The International 2015. At the tournament itself, it crashed out almost immediately, eventually finishing 13-16th. After his time in Na'Vi, SoNNeikO founded his own team Chicken Fighters in Europe, collaborating with Ninjas in Pyjamas, but the paths of the player and the club quickly diverged. After that he actively participated in many teams and mixes with stable results.
In 2021 SoNNeikO presented Winstrike, and in the following year he joined BetBoom Team. With the new team, the guy finished seventh at ESL One Stockholm Major 2022, and also competed at The International 2022, where he finished nineteenth. In 2023, SoNNeikO played for Darkside and StoRm, participating in small tournaments, but could not achieve much result there.
In 2024, Akbar didn't appear on the professional scene, but unsuccessfully tried to qualify for The International 2024 and Riyadh Masters 2024 with Matreshka.
- June 21, 2024 - SoNNeikO moved to AVULUS.
The guy joined the new tag Team Tea, which soon changed its name. The team showed excellent results in small tournaments. SoNNeikO managed to win at the following championships: CCT Dota 2 Series 1, CyberScore.live Cup, RES Regional Series: EU #3, European Pro League 19: Division 1 and CCT Dota 2 Series 3. He also did not stop trying to break into the big stage, and soon he succeeded - AVULUS earned a spot at PGL Wallachia Season 2, where they finished 8th. During the tournament, SoNNeikO got involved in a loud scandal: the player almost fought with Team Falcons offlaner Ammar ATF al-Assaf. For this, AVULUS received a level 3 penalty, and Akbar was nearly disqualified. Later, the team competed at DreamLeague Season 24, finishing 11th. At ESL One Bangkok 2024, the team was able to enter the top 5.
The 2025 team started with an 11th place finish at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND and 16th at DreamLeague Season 25. After that, the team traveled to Bucharest for PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where they finished 16th overall. In April, the team competed at ESL One Raleigh 2025 but was eliminated in the first playoff match. PGL Wallachia Season 4 SoNNeikO missed due to visa issues, there he was replaced by Tal Fly Aizik. At the end of the month, Akbar went inactive.
