Zeal on life at the Bleed Esports bootcamp: "We weren’t paid a salary"
Malaysian offlaner Nicholas zeal Lim shared details about his experience living at the Bleed Esports bootcamp. According to him, the organization went months without paying salaries, and the management was practically nonexistent.
He stated that the team not only lacked financial support but also had to pay for their own meals while living in one of the most expensive countries in the world.
Upper management practically didn’t exist. We weren’t paid a salary. The whole bootcamp — an entire month in Singapore — we lived without a salary and paid for food ourselves. Every day one of us ordered food for the whole team. At some point, it just became unbearable
Moreover, the team was left completely without support, and leadership ignored their messages. On top of that, the manager communicated with players using artificial intelligence. The same continued when a new manager joined.
Every day you wonder if you'll ever be paid, and all this time you're in one of the most expensive countries. And our Western boss just disappeared. When we messaged him, he literally replied through ChatGPT. Later they fired our manager. He was the most reliable person among all of them. The new manager basically did nothing — except buy us tickets home. And for that, thanks... But he also responded to us through ChatGPT
Zeal played for Bleed Esports from March 13 to August 3, 2024. The Dota 2 division of the organization existed since 2021, but in 2024 the team was disbanded. That year, the team failed to qualify for any major tournaments.
Earlier, CyberScore.live reported that LaNm had joined a project focused on forming youth Dota 2 teams in China.
