Yakutou Brothers general manager spoke about the team’s goals and roster issues
Yakutou Brothers general manager and coach Van Yakult Hao noted that the team’s long-term goals are connected to participation in Riyadh Masters and The International. At the same time, according to him, the team has no tournament preferences - Yakutou Brothers intend to play wherever possible:
Our long-term goals are the Esports World Cup and The International. Our short-term goal is to reach the playoffs first in all remaining tournaments in 2025. We are not afraid of fatigue, we want to play in every tournament if we can.
Speaking about difficulties, Yakult admitted that rumors about roster changes may have affected the players’ mood, but he does not see any serious problems in the team.
It is worth reminding that two weeks ago the team presented an updated roster and successfully passed the qualifiers for FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, BLAST SLAM IV, and DreamLeague Season 27. The team has also received a direct invite to PGL Wallachia Season 6.
Touching on the strengths of Yakutou Brothers, the coach emphasized the team’s cohesion, which was formed thanks to long experience of playing together:
We are very close and familiar with each other since we have played together for a long time. I reached out to the team right after The International and had long conversations with everyone. Mainly it’s because we all want to play at The International at home next year.
At The International 2025, the Chinese team finished 9th–13th. In the elimination match, they lost to Heroic and left the tournament. At their home event, Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi, Yakutou also failed to achieve a high result, finishing in 10th place.
It should be noted that the next major tournament of the year, The International 2026, will take place in China, becoming a home arena for the Chinese teams.
