Virtus.pro manager: “This team wouldn’t exist without Daxak”

Head of Dota 2 department at Virtus.pro, Georgiy drAmer Faleev, shared details about the formation of the current roster. According to him, finding suitable players mid-season was extremely difficult, and one of the key factors of success was Nikita Daxak Kuzmin.

Faleev mentioned that at least four candidates were considered for each position in the roster. The organization negotiated with many players and clubs, but assembling a team in the current environment proved difficult: all the promising esports players are under contract, and most clubs refuse to release their leaders even if the player is interested in moving.

All valuable players are extremely important for their teams. You can buy someone less important who sits on the bench or is easy to replace, but if you aim for a really strong player, in 90% of cases, they simply won't let them go for any amount of money.

The solution for Virtus.pro was the base of players from Chimera Esports, with whom they managed to negotiate: on March 28, the roster was formed from four players of this team and Vladislav Rein Kosygin. According to drAmer, the team received an almost ready and well-played roster, which became a real salvation in the conditions of the limited transfer window.

He also highlighted the importance of Daxak in the current lineup:

Nikita is the key figure in the team. Yes, he is complicated and he understands it himself, but he possesses high game intelligence and incredible work ethic. Right now, we are on the same wavelength, and working with him is easier than I expected.
