Valve released an update for Trove of Terror: what's changed
On the night of October 10, Valve released an update for the Trove of Terror treasure in Dota 2. The developers fixed a bug that prevented players from gifting items they had obtained to friends. In addition, extra treasures were granted to those who had previously reforged duplicates.
According to the company, the system designed to prevent abuse of the gifting feature accidentally blocked all items from Trove of Terror from being gifted. Each set can now be gifted once within 30 days of opening the treasure. The recipient must also have been on the sender's Steam friends list for at least one month.
For items obtained before the update, the 30-day period restarted after the changes were introduced. This means that players who opened the treasure before the fix can now gift their items as well.

In addition, Valve has adjusted the reforging system. Players who had already exchanged duplicate items received one additional treasure for every six sets used in the exchange. The compensation is rounded up to the nearest whole number. For example, a player who used seven sets will receive two treasures.
As a reminder, the Trove of Terror treasure was released in Dota 2 on October 7. It introduced new Arcanas for Tidehunter and Drow Ranger. Initially, items obtained from the treasure could not be sold on the Steam Community Market, traded, or gifted to other users, which caused dissatisfaction among some players.
The latest update also introduced a new setting to the game. Players can now enable the display of hero Persona portraits on the hero selection screen.
