A crossover with Monster Hunter has started in Dota 2
Valve has announced a collaboration between Dota 2 and the Monster Hunter series. Along with the client update, the developers published an announcement on the game's official website.
“The hunt is on, and will run for the next three months. Get in the game, vanquish your enemies, and transform your victories into new items. Oh, and look out for monsters.”
Among the event rewards are a new courier, six new sets (for Sniper, Techies, Anti-Mage, Dragon Knight, Beastmaster, and Windranger), and a new type of cosmetic item — effigy pet. In addition, all players received a seasonal effect that adds giant dragons to the map. They fly around the Ancient and do not affect gameplay.
In addition, users can purchase the “Expedition Pack” which unlocks access to several exclusive rewards and the ability to create alternative styles for new sets.
Customization items can be crafted using materials that drop at the end of each game in Dota 2. Players will also gain experience for matches played, as in “Quartero`s Curios”: 800 points for a win and 300 for a loss in normal modes, and 500/200 points for a win/loss in Turbo. Experience is required to increase your “Hunter Rank.” For every 10 levels, there are rewards, including new emoticons, graffiti, crafting materials, and a exchange recipe, which will allow you to exchange excess materials for sticker capsules.
With the update, another innovation has appeared in the game — the “Hero Atlas”. It can be filled by meeting various characters in matches and defeating them. If successful, players will unlock stickers and field notes that reveal more information about the universe. The event will last until February 6, 2026.
As CyberScore reported earlier, Dota 2's online has declined for the first time in six months.
