Two more teams have finished their run at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2
Today, the second round of the lower bracket and the semifinal matches of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 took place. By the end of the day, MOUZ and Team Liquid were eliminated from the tournament.
In the first lower bracket match, MOUZ faced Team Liquid for a spot in the semifinals. The series ended 2:1 in favor of Liquid - the team advanced further, while MOUZ finished in 5th place and earned $65,000 in prize money.
The first map was even until the first major clash at the 31st minute, where MOUZ won a decisive fight and maintained their lead until the end. However, on the second and third maps, the situation completely changed - Team Liquid took control from the very start, gradually increasing their advantage and dictating the pace. Although the previous two encounters between these teams ended in favor of MOUZ, this time Liquid found their rhythm and took a confident revenge.
Special mention goes to Team Liquid’s midlaner Michał Nisha Jankowski, who played his 2000th professional match yesterday. Over ten years in the scene, Nisha has become a champion of numerous major tournaments, including The International 2024, and has earned more than $3,700,000 in prize money. He has been with Team Liquid since late 2022, after spending four years with Team Secret.
In the next match, Team Liquid faced Team Falcons, who had eliminated Team Spirit the day before. After a tense series, Falcons emerged victorious with a 2:1 scoreline, while Liquid finished in 4th place and left the tournament.
The first map was completely dominated by Liquid, ending with no chance for the Falcons. On the second map, the Saudi team managed to seize the initiative and equalize the score. On the decisive third map, Falcons established control from the very start, preventing their opponent from leaving their side of the map. When the gold lead exceeded 30,000, Liquid could no longer resist.
It is worth noting that Team Liquid carry Michael miCKe Vu played all three games on Kez, showing a solid and consistent performance despite the final defeat.
