Team Falcons were eliminated from Blast Slam V one step away from the grand final

The penultimate day of the BLAST SLAM V tournament began with a match between Team Falcons and Team Yandex. The winner advanced to the grand final, while the loser left the tournament in 3–4th place. The outcome came as a surprise to many fans: Yandex sensationally defeated the enemy with a 2:0 score. Despite the loss, Falcons will still participate in BLAST SLAM VI, as they reached the top 4 both at this tournament and at BLAST SLAM IV.

The games showed that Yandex had prepared seriously for this matchup. On both maps, the best heroes of Oliver skiter Lepko and Ammar ATF Assaf - Ursa, Mars and Huskar were banned, as these heroes can play multiple roles and are very convenient for Falcons drafting.

Both maps played out similarly: until the 35th minute the teams were even and neither had a clear advantage. However, a strong laning stage and a well-crafted draft played their role - Team Yandex managed to turn the match around with several decisive fights, after which each game ended within five minutes.

It’s also worth highlighting the play of carry player Alimzhan Watson Islambekov, who died only once across two maps. In the first game he played Terrorblade, and in the second Morphling, and in both games he had an enormous amount of gold.

It is worth recalling that, according to bookmakers, Falcons were the main favorites to win the tournament, while Team Yandex were placed only 6th.
