Shopify Rebellion will not participate in Elite League 2024: co-founder's commentary

Toby attributed one of the reasons for missing the invnt to problems getting a visas for Erin Jasper Yopaj Ferrer's Midlaner lineup. The team couldn't organize logistics for the player so that he could participate in all tournaments. This was complicated by the fact that the UK is no longer part of the European Union, and it is in England that ESL One Birmingham 2024 will be held, which Shopify Rebellion got into based on regional qualification.

Hi, just wanted to give a quick explanation why we made this decision.

It's a concession we feel we had to make due to our team makeup. It wasn't feasible for us to play Dreamleague, Dreamleague qualifiers, Birmingham, PGL and this event. The process for Yopaj to obtain VISAs for all events was impossible due to their timing.

Another problem for the team was cited by the founder as burnout. All team members are from different regions, which means they will be on the road for most of the year, so the organization decided to prioritize DreamLeague tournaments as well as LAN events.

Burnout was another consideration, especially with our players being from many different home regions, people will be on the road a significant amount of the year and we decided to prioritize Dreamleague and LANs for now.

Definitely a bit of a disadvantage for non-european teams, as they can play the big online events from home if they choose to, which isn't an option for us. Ultimately it came down to what worked for our team as well as our players' performance and well-being.

Elite League 2024 is an online tournament, which will be the first in the Elite League series. The organizers of the event are Fissure and ESB. The tournament will be held from March 31 to April 15, 24 teams will take part in it, which will draw a prize pool of 1 million dollars
