PlayTime and Team Nemesis prospects, DreamLeague Season 29 predictions: analysts on the Win Condition podcast

In the latest episode of the Win Condition DOTA podcast, analysts Pedro Brauner, Cristy Pandora Ramadani, and Jarrad Belandrial Adams discussed roster changes in the South American scene, noting that the region is currently going through a serious crisis after the latest developments:

Pedro: South America had only just started returning to the Dota 2 map, but then HEROIC and paiN left, GamerLegion almost completely rebuilt their roster, and now everything looks extremely chaotic.

The analysts also highlighted Team Nemesis, who introduced three new players and a coach just two weeks ago.

According to them, the roster is viewed as one of the region’s new projects that could quickly establish itself on the tier-1 scene:

Pedro: Nemesis literally went through around 30 people in a single week. It was very surprising to see so many changes in such a short period of time. The organization is taking development seriously, and these roster moves could pay off.

In addition, the podcast participants discussed PlayTime and their possible qualification for Esports World Cup 2026 through DreamLeague Season 29, where teams will also earn EPT points:

Pandora: PlayTime are currently in a very difficult situation. They need at least a top-6 finish and strong results in the group stage, otherwise their chances of receiving a direct invite will become extremely small.

Pandora: They are playing non-stop right now. They competed at PGL Wallachia, attended 1W ESSENCE, and played other tournaments as well. The team is in good rhythm and looks well prepared.

It is worth noting that the Peruvian roster previously competed under the paiN Gaming tag, however after the organization left Dota 2, the players decided to continue playing together under a new name.

At their latest tournaments, the roster finished in 5th-6th place at PGL Wallachia Season 8 and also reached the top 3 at 1W ESSENCE I.

Most of the second half of the episode was dedicated to predictions for DreamLeague S29. One of the discussed topics was REKONIX’s prospects at the tournament:

Pedro: I can absolutely believe that REKONIX might not win a single series at the tournament. They have a very difficult group. The level of competition is extremely high, and the team currently has a lot of issues.

The analysts also discussed Team Liquid’s chances of finishing and separately highlighted the level of the former HEROIC players, who will compete at this tournament with a stand-in:

Belandrial: Liquid have consistently been finishing in the top 3 at major tournaments lately, so another top placement looks very realistic for them.

Pedro: Ex-HEROIC have four top-tier players in their roster, and they are definitely capable of competing with most teams at the tournament, so they could achieve a strong result.

In conclusion, they noted that the current season remains one of the most unpredictable in recent years due to constant roster reshuffles, inconsistent results, and the large number of online tournaments.

DreamLeague Season 29 will take place from 13.05.2026 to 24.05.2026 in an online format, with 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $1,000,000 and 28,300 EPT points. You can follow the tournament in detail in the report.

As CyberScore previously reported, bookmakers named the main favorites of the tournament.
