"Peru are at least a top-3 contender", — Amaru Gaming support about their ENC 2026 roster
In the latest episode of the Peruvian podcast La Sopa, José Panda Hernández and journalist Pancho Gusto discussed the prospects of the Peru national team at Esports Nations Cup 2026, created a tier list of regional players, and also conducted an interview with Aurora Gaming coach Damien kpii Chok.
According to Panda, the Peruvian national team can aim for a strong result at the tournament, considering the region’s recent performances:
Peru are at least a top-3 contender. Especially considering the rumors that China might skip the tournament. Recently our players have been performing well at other events, for example SA Rejects.
He also highlighted the young talents of the region:
TaiLung and Wisper are currently the biggest prospects in the region. They need to be picked and showcased because they are the future of Peru.
The national teams championship will take place in November, with rosters expected to be announced closer to the start of the tournament.

Later in the podcast, they created a tier list of players, evaluating not only current form but also their contribution to the history of the scene. According to them, the top players included Adrián Wisper Dobles, Elvis Scofield De la Cruz Peña, and David Parker Nicho Flores.
At the same time, Pancho Gusto highlighted Jean-Pierre Chris Luck Gonzalez Salazar, who gained wide recognition thanks to his performances for Beastcoast and Evil Geniuses.
At one point, Chris Luck was playing everything mid — Anti-Mage, Disruptor, basically any hero. And it actually worked. Teams didn’t understand how to play against it. That’s something missing in the current pro scene, where everything is often very one-dimensional.
When Gonzalez was in Evil Geniuses, Matthew and Pakazs wanted to kick him after The Lima Major 2023, when the team finished in the top 6, but Wisper stood up for him.

Special attention in the episode was given to the interview with kpii, who spoke about the differences between working in Team Liquid and Aurora:
In Liquid we had more staff, everyone had their own role, and responsibilities were distributed. In Aurora the team is smaller, so I have to take on more tasks and control more processes.
He also explained how he builds communication with players:
It is important to find the right approach to players. When you have played yourself, you better understand how to deliver information. Sometimes it is better to be short and to the point rather than doing long reviews — players process it faster.
In addition, the coach shared his view on drafting and preparation:
To prepare a draft strategy, first you need to understand the player, their playstyle and the heroes they feel comfortable on.
At the same time, it is important to consider many factors: enemy picks, draft phases and possible bans. You cannot always try to counter the opponent, you need to find balance and choose the right hero.
Aurora Gaming’s next tournament will be DreamLeague Season 29, which will take place from 13.05.2026 to 24.05.2026 in an online format. Sixteen teams will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000 and 28,300 EPT points.
Previously, Cyberscore reported on the podcast by Shannon SUNSfan Scotten and Troels syndereN Nielsen summarizing PGL Wallachia Season 8.
