Another team has withdrawn from the “Games of the Future”
Former Alliance players, who had previously accepted an invitation to the “Games of the Future 2025” under the name Vikings, have withdrawn from the tournament. The roster included Jonathan Loda Emanuel Berg, Henrik AdmiralBulldog Anberg, and Joakim Akke Akterhall.
This information was published on the event's official website. It is still unknown which players will take the vacant spot in the championship.
Previously, content creator and former pro-player Andrey Ghostik Kadyk urged professionals not to attend the event organized by the Russian government. A few days later, Sebastian Ceb Debs, along with his stack MonkeyBusiness, also withdrew, calling the tournament too politicized.
Now only six teams remain in the tournament, and there are just a few days left before it starts. It is unclear whether the organizers will manage to present replacements or postpone the event dates.

Earlier, viewers on Maximilian qojqva Brocker’s Twitch channel were being banned for asking about the reasons behind participating in this tournament. Later, on his X account, the former player stated that he would not compete at the championship.
I have decided to withdraw from the event after the circumstances around the event came to my attention in the last couple of days
At the same time, Niklas Wagamama Hogstrom also commented on the situation:
I really looked forward to playing vs everyone the upcoming event but have also decided to not attend, hopefully another organizer will attempt an allstar styled tournament like this in the future.

"Games of the Future 2025" will take place from 14.12.2025 to 19.12.2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Eight teams will compete for a prize pool of $175,000. Participation in the "Games of the Future 2025" is considered unacceptable and condemned by the community, as it is held by Russian organizers, and part of the proceeds may go to sponsor the war in Ukraine.
As previously reported by CyberScore, Team Liquid coach William Blitz Lee will miss the first few days of DreamLeague Season 27 due to personal reasons.
