A drama has erupted in the SEA scene over the reasons behind Nikko's kick from OG: SVG and Cap break down the situation
Avery SVG Silverman and Austin Cap Walsh discussed the main reasons behind the replacement of Nikko Nikko Bilocura with Alexander TORONTOTOKYO Khertek on the OG roster during a YouTube podcast. Among them were conflicts and a lack of understanding with teammates, as well as stress caused by difficulties adapting to life in Europe.
First and foremost, the casters cited comments made by OG coach Adam Erwann 343 Shah bin Akhtar Hussein in a recent interview. In it, he explained that Bilocura hadn’t played any public matches before boot camp, which meant he arrived unprepared. According to the coach, Nikko also failed to put in the necessary effort during team training: he played significantly fewer matchmaking games, would not stay up as late as the others, and went to bed early, and played other games besides Dota 2, as stated by Rolen Andre Skem Gabriel Ong.
Furthermore, one of the key factors in Nikko’s kick was precisely his heated conflict with Skem:
"During Skem’s stream, someone in the chat asked, "Is it true he hit you?". And Scam said: "He almost did, we were teasing each other, but he got salty and mad and almost hit me“. Skem added that he wouldn’t mind being friends with Nikko, but, and I quote: ”I'd rather get hit and run over by an ebike than play with him again", — Cap said.
343 noted that this incident undermined the confidence of the team and Nikko himself. The team considered Bilocura lazy, though he was experiencing severe stress, depression, and homesickness. He felt like an outsider and couldn’t open up to his teammates. The coach didn’t want to kick Nikko, but the situation was getting worse: the players had stopped trusting each other. When it became clear that they wouldn’t be able to get back to their proper level, the decision was made to replace him.
Nikko himself, during a conversation with Carlo Kuku Palad and Joshua H. Kokz Marano, confirmed that the team atmosphere was toxic. He was often teased and disrespected. Bilocura felt he was going to be kicked out two weeks before it actually happened, which is why he couldn’t perform properly. He also noted that the heroes he trained were not picked for him.
“It seems the team already had a core of these four players, who previously played for BOOM Esports under Mushi. They have a similar idea about Dota, while Nikko had a different one, but he likely couldn’t articulate or defend it well", — Cap believes.
TORONTOTOKYO, who took Nikko’s place, SVG compared to “a Rottweiler in a Chihuahua shop.” Khertek will bring a strong leadership voice to the team — that is precisely why he was chosen over DM or Noticed. However, SVG added that Alexander might not mesh with the Southeast Asian team culturally and mentally.
OG’s first results with TORONTOTOKYO are indeed disappointing. The roster failed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 29. The team managed to win the first series against GLYPH, but this was followed by two lackluster losses to Ivory Team and REKONIX.
The next tournament for OG will be BLAST SLAM VII, to which the team received a direct invite. The LAN tournament will take place from 26.05.2026 to 07.06.2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Twelve teams will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000.
As CyberScore previously reported, the manager of SA Rejects summed up the results of PGL Wallachia Season 8.
