Kiyotaka on the meta: “Right now, it’s the best patch for mid players”

Midlaner Aurora Gaming Gleb kiyotaka Zyryanov gave an interview at Riyadh Masters 2025, where he shared his thoughts on the current Dota 2 meta.

According to him, the current patch is the best time for mid players, as there’s no clear dominance of specific heroes, and mid-lane outcomes are decided in fair battles:

I think it’s the best patch for mid players. All heroes are viable, Bottle can’t be abused anymore, and no one helps the enemy midlaner. It all comes down to fair 3v3 fights for runes to decide who’s stronger.

Additionally, kiyotaka noted that he especially enjoys playing Shadow Fiend, Queen of Pain, and Ember Spirit, as these heroes allow players to fully showcase their individual skill:

These are heroes I’ve been playing my whole life. I like them because you can really show the difference in skill by pressing the right buttons. Of course, I’m happy they’re strong in this patch.

It’s worth noting that Aurora Gaming is currently tied for first place in Group C with Tundra Esports, and tomorrow they’ll play the final match of the first group stage phase against Virtus.pro.

Riyadh Masters 2025 takes place from 08.07.2025 to 19.07.2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sixteen teams will raffle off a prize pool of $3,000,000. You can follow the competition in detail in the report.
