The conflict over Gaimin Gladiators' withdrawal from The International 2025 is escalating

The organization Gaimin Gladiators has officially confirmed its withdrawal from The International 2025. In its initial statement, the club explained the decision by citing disagreements with the roster and the inability to guarantee a stable lineup in accordance with the tournament rules.

After long discussions with the roster, we made the difficult decision to withdraw from TI14. The players stated that they want to compete independently, without the Gaimin Gladiators tag. Due to roster change rules, we could not guarantee an eligible lineup, so withdrawal was the only option.

However, the team’s midlaner Quinn Quinn Callahan denied the organization’s statement. According to him, the roster was ready to represent the club at the championship, but they were not allowed to do so:

We clearly stated in written form our readiness, willingness, and ability to participate in The International under the Gaimin Gladiators banner. However, the organization refused to let us do this.

In response, club president and co-founder Nick Cuccovillo said that the player’s words were misleading, claiming that it was the players themselves who initiated the split:

We withdrew the team from TI at the request of the players themselves to terminate their contracts with GG so that they could compete independently. We informed Valve that we would not be able to participate due to substitution rules. By the time the roster decided to play, there was no confidence that they would remain with GG. Simply put, the decision was caused by their request, delays, and refusal to negotiate.

The conflict surrounding Gaimin Gladiators’ withdrawal from The International 2025 remains unresolved, as the players and the organization continue to present opposing versions of events.
