Ex-manager of Gaimin Gladiators revealed details of the conflict within the organization

Former Gaimin Gladiators manager Oleg Jak2oO Porotnikov commented on the organization’s withdrawal from The International 2025. In his view, the tension between the players and management had been building for a long time and eventually reached a breaking point.

Jak2oO noted that some time ago there was a rumor about the possible dismissal of coach Aske Cy- Larsen, which only escalated the situation. Against this backdrop, the organization turned to the coach, asking him to support its position in order to influence the players:

Most likely, the friction between the team and the organization reached its peak due to questionable results and the effort to maintain certain conditions for the roster. The org comes to the coach and persistently asks him to take their side. The coach tells this to the team, and they start questioning to the organization. The org doesn’t back down and takes a stand. The players, tired of such treatment, take their own stand in response.

The ex-manager also stressed that such situations are nothing new for Gaimin Gladiators, and the club often disregards agreements:

GG easily break any contract terms retroactively. And the main point is that for the organization it’s always about money, there are no human relationships there at all. Everything is for profit.

Porotnikov recalled that he left the club after The International 2024, when he was fired just one day after the tournament. According to him, the manager position then went to an acquaintance of one of the owners who had no experience in esports, while he himself received no compensation.

The situation was also commented on by Gaimin Gladiators co-founder Nick Cuccovillo, who confirmed that the decision was due to disagreements between players and the organization regarding roster formation. He promised to share more details once the legal matters are resolved.
