A Dota 2 fan has found a way to view pro player statistics

Fabio Longo has found a way to bypass Valve's restriction on access to match statistics for players with a MMR above 8,500 PTS. He decided to exploit a vulnerability and created a website where he began publishing information about pro-players' games in public and in closed lobby training sessions.

“Hello, Gabe Newell. Finding your 'hole' wasn't that difficult. Next time you make a decision as ill-advised as closing professional players' statistics, please at least fix the obvious vulnerabilities so that even an amateur like me can't exploit them. P.S. Thanks for Dota, for many of us it has become more than just a game. With love, Fabio Longo”

The author of the resource noted that he does not know how quickly Valve will fix the vulnerability (or if it will do so at all), but he will continue to develop the project as long as possible.

As a reminder, at the end of March, Valve made private the statistics of players with 8,500 MMR and above. It is not clear what vulnerability allowed Fabio Longo to access the in-game statistics.

As CyberScore reported earlier, Dota2ProTracker is once again allowing users to track statistics for players with a rating of 8,500 and above.
