The first finalist of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 has been determined
In the upper bracket final of the FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 Playoff stage, BetBoom Team defeated Team Yandex with a score of 2:1 and became the first team to reach the grand final. Yandex will continue their run in the lower bracket, where they will face the winner of the Team Falcons vs Team Liquid series.
Many did not expect such a confident performance from the renewed Team Yandex, but the roster has been showing excellent form throughout the tournament. Before facing BetBoom, the team defeated MOUZ and Tundra Esports, but could not overcome the CIS representatives.
A special highlight of the series was the Dragon Knight pick, appearing in the second and third maps for BetBoom Team. On the second map, carry player Ilya Kiritych Ulyanov had a rather weak showing, ending with a 4–7–3 scoreline. However, in the decisive map, midlaner Danil Gpk Skutin played the same hero and achieved a far better result - 5 kills, 1 death, and 11 assists.
It is worth noting that this hero rarely performs well as a carry. Only Remco Crystallis Arets from MOUZ has shown decent results on him, while other carry players struggled.
The third map was a careful and methodical game from both sides, lasting 48 minutes. The final kill score was 21–8 in favor of BetBoom Team, securing their spot in the tournament’s grand final.
In a post-match interview, BetBoom Team support Vitaliy Save Melnyk shared his thoughts on the team’s recent progress:
It was tough in the previous games, especially in the playoffs, but we became stronger as a team and made it to the grand final. We’ve learned to perfectly balance in Dota 2, and rest in real life. Now we’re waiting for our opponent - we always want to play against the strongest because it gives us more experience and helps us become better.
