The most valuable loot in the “Dark Carnival”: what’s changed at the “Carnival Candyworks”
One of the main and most beloved by players activities in the “Dark Carnival” is the Candyworks, which has returned once again to Dota 2. As before, players can try their luck at winning Immortal or Arcana items, but this time Valve has updated the Candyworks, and now even more valuable rewards are available.
First and foremost, it’s worth noting the addition of the Treasure of the Cryptic Beacon to the reward pool. The treasure was released in 2015 and is not available for purchase on the Steam Market. It could only be obtained as part of a special event on Nexon servers (South Korea). All six items in the treasure are quite expensive, but the legendary Shattered Greatsword for Sven and Pipe of Dezun for Dazzle are especially valuable.
In addition, the shop still features unique couriers, such as Amaterasu and Atrophic Skitterwing, which are not available for purchase. But the “Carnival Candyworks” now features even more valuable couriers: Murrissey the Smeevil and Drodo the Druffin — these couriers were released for The International 2012 and contain ethereal gems Champion’s Aura 2012, as well as prismatic Champion’s Blue gems, which can be used in Arcana for Terrorblade or Techies when the courier is destroyed.
Note that Immortal treasures, which were released during Battle Pass events tied to The International, have been removed from the reward pool. However, the Immortal items themselves can still be found in the Candyworks as separate rewards.
The list of available Arcanas has also changed. Any Arcana items that were not exclusive can still be found in the shop, but Arcana for Windranger (Compass of the Rising Gale) has now been added. The item is available on the marketplace, as it was part of the Fluttering Breeze set. At the same time, Arcana for Earthshaker and Wraith King have not been spotted in the Candy Shop, although they are available on the Steam Market for the reason mentioned above.
In addition, the Candy Shop still offers 10 Discount Coins for the event store, a month of Dota Plus subscription, and treasures containing quite valuable sets, such as Treasure of Unbound Majesty, Treasure of Twilight Procession, and Treasure of the Timeless Rite.
