During the night of May 22nd to 23rd, Valve released the massive patch 7.36, which added new mechanics to Dota 2 and changed many heroes.
Commentator Yaroslav NS Kuznetsov was not very pleased with the patch. He stated that the game as a whole did not change, but just became more complicated once again.
I looked at the patch, and overall the game hasn't changed at all because the main aspects like the economy remain the same, but the overload with mechanics is troubling. It's like they hung too many ornaments on this tree. In any case, I won’t be playing it for the next five days.
The members of 9Pandas also commented on the update: the players were pleased with the innovations, although they noted that the developers still have a lot of work to do to achieve balance within the game.
Great patch. I accept the changes with dignity. MMRs are raining down.

The patch is very cool. They made a lot of new spell mechanics. Each hero has become much more functional in the game. The first couple of months will be chaotic and random.
Mikhail Darklord Blinov
The patch concept is cool, but there's no balance. Games are 20 minutes long; whoever finds the OP stuff first wins. It will be impossible to play the first two or three weeks.
Gleb kiyotaka Zyryanov
The patch is very cool. I think the meta will stabilize in a month or two. There are a lot of new heroes, increasing the game's variability. Respect to Valve — a breath of fresh air.
Albert Alberkaaa Chernoivanov
The patch is funny. There's a lot to refine. Like any patch on the first day, there's a lot of OP stuff and many bugs. It's a bit unclear why they didn't change Roshan's location.
Oleg Sayuw Kalenbet
A similar opinion is held by the head of Dota 2 at Virtus.proAlexander StrangeR Solomonov. He believes that the update will bring a lot of new things to the pro scene, but amateur players will find it difficult because the game's entry threshold has significantly increased.
Played a pub game in the "new" Dota without fully studying the change log, and it feels like a different game. Amateur players who play a little will have a hard time adapting, as there are many changes that need to be figured out and tested.
For the professional scene, it's undoubtedly a breath of fresh air. It will be interesting to watch the formation of the meta and the tricks that teams come up with.
Former pro-player Henrik AdmiralBulldog Anberg was very pleased with the patch but noted that the rework of Lone Druid is completely unbalanced.
The Dota patch once again looks amazing. The changes seem bold, impressive, and interesting. I'm impressed by the developers behind this.
However, whoever balanced Lone Druid clearly doesn't play him.
