1WIN Team was caught using a smoke bug during the ESL One Raleigh 2025 qualifiers
Ukrainian analyst Oleksii Bafik Bafadarov reported that the 1WIN Team was caught using a Smoke of Deceit bug during the qualifiers for ESL One Raleigh 2025. Evidence has been published on the commentator's personal Twitter account.
Based on replay records and information from Bafik, it can be traced that three players from the team exploited the bug: Nikita Munkushi~ Chepurnykh, Georgiy swedenstrong Zainalabidov, and Dzmitry Fishman Palishchuk in matches against their opponents. Shortly before this, 1WIN Team manager Ivan 4SV Karpov made a statement saying that his team was aware of the prohibition on using the smoke bug and that his players did not abuse the bug.
We had a question about smoke spamming, so I emailed the ESL admins. At first, they gave me a generic reply: "Guys, refer to rule 7.4.7 Bug Abuse". I followed up by asking if the TO considered smoke spamming a bug and received the response: "Yes, this is a bug". I passed this information on to the players, and we didn't use the bug
Let us remind you that on January 22, NAVI Junior was disqualified from the upcoming LAN tournament in America for using the Smoke of Deceit bug during the closed qualifiers. Afterward, the tournament operator ESL launched an investigation into the bug abuse incidents, which is still ongoing. Players from Team Spirit and Tundra Esports are also under suspicion.
Earlier, CyberScore.live reported that Maelstorm commented on the abuse of the Smoke Check Bug in the professional scene.
