What is Ymir ?

Ymir
Imir is the true name of the hero Tusk (formerly Tuskarr). The nickname comes from Ymir — the primordial ice giant from Norse mythology. Imir is associated with cold, ice, and northern harshness. All of this is reflected in the hero’s theme, using snowballs, ice shards, and slows.
Although the official in-game name is Tusk, the name Imir has been used since the original DotA (Warcraft III) and likely became popular thanks to casts and local translations. Since then, it has become the character’s folk and canonical name.
