Tri-lane
Tri-lane is a strategy where three heroes go to the same lane. Most commonly, this was the safe lane. Supporting the carry with two supports provided strong lane control and zoning of the enemy offlaner. An aggressive trilane was also frequently used — three heroes with disables and damage to "shut down" the enemy early on.
Tri-lane is an important historical strategic element in Dota 2 that was widely used in the past, especially in pro play and public games before the map and experience system were reworked. Nowadays, such setups are rarely used due to changes in balance and the meta.
