What is Tip?

Tip
Tip is a commendation system in Dota 2. During a match, players can “tip” another player — an ally or even an enemy — as a sign of respect, support, or simply as a reaction to a highlight.
A player can send up to 10 such compliments per week. For each tip given or received, 50 Dota Plus Shards are awarded, which can be spent on in-game bonuses: relics, sets, voice lines, and other rewards from Dota Plus. Tips are typically used:
- to acknowledge good play or a beautiful moment;
- to cheer on a teammate;
- sometimes ironically, as a joke.
