What is Silence?

Silence
Silence is a status effect in Dota 2 that prevents a hero from casting abilities while it's active. A silenced hero can still move, attack, and use items. Silence is effective against heroes who rely heavily on their abilities, temporarily reducing their threat level. This effect is often used to interrupt initiations or suppress enemy heroes that depend on their spells.
