Ping
Ping is the delay between a player's action and the server's response (measured in milliseconds). The lower the value (e.g. 20–60 ms), the better the responsiveness. High ping (200+ ms) causes lag, delays in casting abilities, and movement.
Additionally, Dota 2 features map pinging — signals players send on the minimap or the battlefield to alert teammates. For example, double-clicking Alt+LMB places a ping on the map to warn about potential danger.
