Games modes
Game modes are different types of matches in Dota 2, each with its own rules and features. They affect how the game is played, team composition, match time, and victory conditions.
Main modes:
- All Pick (AP) — classic mode where each player freely picks any hero.
- Captains Mode (CM) — team mode with captains who draft and ban heroes; used in tournaments.
- Turbo Mode — fast-paced mode with quicker farming and reduced respawn times.
- Random Draft — players choose from a random pool of heroes.
- Single Draft — each player chooses from three random heroes.
- Ability Draft — players build a custom hero by choosing abilities from different heroes.
- Ranked Matchmaking — competitive mode with an MMR ranking system.
