Draft
Draft is the process of selecting heroes by teams before a Dota 2 match begins. In Captain’s Mode, during the draft, teams take turns banning and picking heroes, aiming to build a strong lineup and counter the opponent’s strengths. In regular ranked matches, players simply pick heroes one by one without bans, forming teams for the game.
On the pro scene, hero picks and bans are usually handled by the team captain or coach because it requires a lot of time and deep analysis. Good drafting skills are crucial for success, as they determine how balanced and effective a team will be.
