Core
Core — a hero who becomes the central combat force of the team over time. The main goal of a core is to gain enough items and experience to become strong and "carry the game" in the mid and late stages. These heroes require a large amount of resources: gold (for buying items) and experience (for leveling up abilities). As a result, they usually take up key positions on the map:
- Carry (position 1) — gets the most farm on the safe lane and becomes the team’s main damage dealer;
- Midlaner (position 2) — gets solo experience and gold in the mid lane, plays at a high tempo, and can gank other lanes;
- Offlaner (position 3) — usually plays a semi-initiator or tanky role, but is still considered a core because they need key items to be effective in fights.
Examples of cores: Juggernaut, Shadow Fiend, Mars.
