The Ancient is the main structure located at the heart of each team’s base in Dota 2. Protecting your own and destroying the enemy’s Ancient is the core objective of the game. Destroying the enemy Ancient results in victory, while losing your own means defeat — regardless of kills or any other accomplishments during the match.
