Team Aster is a Chinese esports organization founded in 2018 by legendary player Xu BurNIng Zhilei and entrepreneur XiaoFei.

Within a few years, the club became one of the leaders on the Chinese scene, winning regional tournaments on multiple occasions and regularly representing China at major international championships.

2018–2020

In September 2018, the first roster of Team Aster was formed, consisting of Liu Sylar Jiajun, Deng Dstones Lei, Lin Xxs Jing, Ye BoBoKa Zhibiao, and Lu Fenrir Chao.

Already in its debut season, the team qualified for The Kuala Lumpur Major and also won the qualifier for The Chongqing Major. However, the team was unable to consistently perform at top-tier tournaments, so the organization constantly changed its roster.

At various times, Team Aster featured players such as Cai Mushi Yi Feng, Gao loveyouloveme Yuan, Qi Chuan chYuaN Eng, Pan Fade Yi, Liu Kamma Zhang, Sun Sccc Chun, and other well-known players from the Chinese and Asian scenes.

In 2020, the team won the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3, took second place at the Huya Winter Invitational 2020, and regularly participated in regional tournaments.

2021–2022

The years 2021 and 2022 marked the most successful period in the organization’s history.

In early 2021, Team Aster assembled its championship roster, which included Du Monet Peng, Xxs, BoBoKa, Zhang LaNm Zhicheng, and ChYuan. Later, Zeng Ori Jiaoyang and Liu White丶Album Yuhao joined the team.

The team won DPC China 2021, claimed the titles at i-League 2021 Season 1, i-League 2021 Season 2, and Intel World Open Beijing, and qualified for The International 2021, where they finished in the top 16.

In 2022, the team won the Chinese qualifier for ESL One Malaysia 2022, where it subsequently reached the grand final, and also finished in the top three at PGL Arlington Major 2022.

The season’s biggest achievement—and the organization’s best result ever—was a fourth-place finish at The International 2022, where the team knocked out PSG.LGD during the tournament.

2023–2024

Following their successful run at The International 2022, the team’s results began to gradually decline. Despite reaching the top 8 at Riyadh Masters 2023 and competing in major international tournaments, Team Aster was no longer able to contend for championship titles.

Throughout the season, the team featured Sumail SumaiL Hassan, Yan Poyoyo Shaohan, Hu Kaka Liangzhi, and other well-known players.

In February 2024, BurNIng announced the closure of the organization. Team Aster ceased to exist, bringing to a close the history of one of the most successful Chinese clubs of its generation.
