Bio
Alimzhan Watson Islambekov, formerly known as DrWatson, is a Kazakh Carry in Dota 2. His signature character is considered to be Monkey King.
Watson started his cybersport career in October 2019 as a member of KHAN. After participating in a few qualifications, he left the team. After that, Watson played in various mixes until he was noticed by Nofear, who invited him to XactJlepbI. The team finished sixth in ESL One CIS Online Season 1: Lower Division, holding their slot in ESL One Eastern Europe Online Season 2: Lower Division. Watson and his team then teamed up with B8 because the latter was eliminated from the league, but wanted to stay in the DPC system to qualify for The International 2021 and add a Dendi team bundle to Dota 2. In ESL One Eastern Europe Online Season 2: Lower Division, the team once again finished sixth and was seen as an outsider to qualify for the main tournament of the year. And it happened - B8 finished 9-12th, winning just 1 match. In October 2021, Watson was sent to the reserves.
In November HellRaisers introduces a new roster, which includes watson, finally leaving B8. Together with the new team he takes the first places in Dota 2 Champions League Season 5, Dota 2 Champions League Season 7.
After a year, in December 2022, Alimzhan moves to Entity. As a member of the Indian club watson takes 5-6th place at Lima Major 2023 and 4th place at BetBoom Universe: Episode I - Comics Zone. Also in Entity Islambekov participated in The International 2023, where he took 9-12th place. For Alimzhan the year ended with participation in the closed qualification for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where Entity took 5-6th place and did not get to the main part of the tournament.
In 2024 Watson together with Entity attempted to qualify for Betboom Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Season 22, ESl One Birmingham 2024, DreamLeague Season 23, PGL Wallachia Season 1 and Elite League 2024, but only managed to qualify for the last of these tournaments, where they finished in 11th place. Entity also picked up a victory at the 1WIN Series Spring and FISSURE Universe Ep.2, as well as successfully qualifying for the Riyadh Masters 2024.
- July 21, 2024 - Cloud9 signed the Entity Gaming roster.
Under the new tag, the guys performed at FISSURE Universe Ep.3, placing fifth, and also participated at The International 2024, where they placed sixth.
- October 4, 2024 - Watson officially left Cloud9 and joined Gaimin Gladiators.
Together with the new team, the player competed at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and DreamLeague Season 24, but Gaimin Gladiators failed to advance beyond the group stage at either tournament. The team later failed to qualify for ESL One Bangkok 2024 and finished 3rd at the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall. After that, GG competed at BLAST SLAM I, finishing in the top 6, and in February 2025, the team placed 9th at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND and was a finalist for BLAST SLAM II. At the DreamLeague Season 25 roster finished in 12th place. In March, the team competed at PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where they finished in 7th-8th place.
Later in March, as part of Gaimin Gladiators, participated in FISSURE Universe Ep.4, where the team managed to reach the grand final but was unable to claim the championship title, finishing in 2nd place.
On May 6, the team participated in BLAST SLAM III, finishing their run in the semifinals and placing 3rd–4th. At DreamLeague Season 26, GG finished in 5th place. Also in the summer, the team took 2nd place at PGL Wallachia Season 5.
In early July, the team participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, where they performed poorly and failed to reach the playoff stage.
At the Riyadh Masters 2025 tournament, Gaimin Gladiators reached the playoff stage but lost their first match and exited the competition, finishing in 7th–8th place.
On August 2, 2025, Gaimin Gladiators were eliminated from Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi. The team finished in 5th place and earned $43,750.
In August, the organization announced its withdrawal from The International 2025 due to internal conflict within the roster.
In October, Watson, as part of Team Yandex, participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 where the team lost in the first round of the playoffs and left the tournament.
Later, it became known that the player officially became part of Team Yandex.
At the end of October, Yandex took part in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, where the team finished 3rd, reaching the lower bracket final of the playoff stage.
At the beginning of December, Yandex competed at BLAST Slam V, finishing in 2nd place after reaching the playoff stage. In the grand final, the team failed to defeat Team Falcons, losing the series 0:3.
At DreamLeague Season 27, Team Yandex delivered an outstanding performance, defeating all top teams and claiming the tournament title. In the grand final, the team defeated Team Spirit with a 3–1 score.
At the first tournament of 2026, FISSURE Universe: Episode 8, the team finished in third place, stopping one step short of the grand final.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they took fourth place, losing to Natus Vincere in the playoff stage. At the following DreamLeague Season 28, Team Yandex finished 10th-11th, being eliminated in the group stage.
At the following tournament, PGL Wallachia Season 7, the team once again competed with a stand-in, but still managed to win the championship after defeating Team Liquid in the grand final.
At the end of March, Team Yandex finished in second place at ESL One Birmingham 2026, losing to Tundra Esports with a 1:3 score in the grand final.
At the next tournament, PGL Wallachia Season 8, the team continued to play with Dmitry DM Dorokhin, but unexpectedly finished the championship in last place.
