History
Team Serenity is a Chinese Dota 2 team founded in September 2017.
Despite its short history, the team became one of the biggest surprises of the Chinese scene, qualified for The International 2018, and regularly competed in major international tournaments.
2017–2018
In September 2017, Team Serenity unveiled its first roster featuring Lin doodle Zikai, Zhang Big_A Xiao'an, Fan longGGG Menglong, Li mianmian Zimeng, and Xiao XCJ Chaojian.
After competing in only a handful of qualifiers, the organization rebuilt almost the entire roster at the beginning of 2018, signing Ji flyfly Xie, Zhao XinQ Zixing, and Xiong Pyw Jiahan. Zhang Zyd Daquan joined later, while Wang SanSheng Zhaohui, who had previously spent several years with Newbee, took over as head coach.
This lineup became the most successful in the organization's history. Team Serenity stunned the Chinese qualifiers for The International 2018, defeating CDEC and Invictus Gaming to qualify for the year's biggest tournament. The team finished 9th–12th at TI before going on to win World Showdown of Esports 1.
2019
Following The International, the team gradually lost several of its key players. During the season, XinQ, SanSheng, zhizhizhi, and Pyw departed, while Chu Aventador Zeyu, Roger Roddgeee Tan Boon Thai, and several other regional players joined the roster.
Despite the roster changes, Team Serenity finished second at WSOE 6: Dota 2 – Serenity's Destiny, placed in the top three at DOTA Summit 10, and won the World Electronic Sports Games 2019 China – Southern Circuit regional qualifier. However, the team was unable to replicate the success of its 2018 campaign.
After failing to qualify for The International 2019, Team Serenity gradually ceased operations, and by the end of the year the remaining players had left the roster.
