History
Outsiders was a temporary tag used by the Russian esports organization Virtus.pro's Dota 2 roster between April and September 2022.
After sanctions were imposed on the Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov, whose structures were linked to the holding company ESforce that owned Virtus.pro, tournament operators barred the organization from competing under its own brand. As a result, the team temporarily played under the name Outsiders.
At the time, the lineup included Danil gpk~ Skutin, Dmitry DM Dorokhin, Vitaliy Save- Melnik, and Egor Xakoda Lipartiya. At the start of the team's run, Ivan Pure Moskalenko was also part of the roster.
2022
The team's very first appearance already sparked a scandal. During one of the matches in the qualifier for ESL One Stockholm Major 2022, the team's carry Pure drew the letter "Z" on the minimap, which after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine became associated with the Russian army.
After an investigation, the team was disqualified from the qualifier, and the organization terminated the player's contract.
In late May, Roman RAMZES666 Kushnarev took his place; he had previously represented Virtus.pro.
Under the Outsiders tag, the squad won the third tour of the DPC EEU 2021/2022 and competed at PGL Arlington Major 2022.
In September 2022, Virtus.pro changed its ownership and management structure. This lifted the restrictions on using the organization's brand, which allowed the club to drop the temporary Outsiders tag and return to its original name.
