History
Indonesia is one of the strongest countries in Southeast Asia in Dota 2. The national team regularly competes in major international tournaments, and in 2022, it achieved the greatest success in its history by winning the 2022 IESF World Esports Championship.
2019-2022
Among the national team’s first major international tournaments were the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019 and the SEAEF Dota 2 Championship 2021.
However, the team’s greatest achievement to date was its victory at the IESF World Esports Championship 2022, held in Bali.
The championship team consisted of Randy Dreamocel Sapoetra, Rafli Mikoto Fathur Rahman, Syaid womy Muhammad Reski, Tri Jhocam Kuncoro, and Matthew Whitemon Filemon.
During the tournament, Indonesia defeated Kazakhstan, Thailand, Laos, and Philippines, winning the grand final 3–2 and becoming world champions under the IESF for the first time.
2023
In 2023, Indonesia participated in the 2022 Asian Games, which had been postponed by one year.
The roster included virtually all of the Army Geniuses players, as well as Dreamocel, who had previously represented the national team.
Later, the team competed in the 2023 IESF World Esports Championship, but was unable to repeat the previous year’s success.
2025-2026
In the summer of 2025, qualifiers for the 2025 IESF World Esports Championship were held, and Indonesia once again fielded a roster to represent the country at the championship.
This time, the roster included four REKONIX players: Muhammad inYourdreaM Rizki, Saiful Fbz Ilham, Abdullah dalul Putra Afemi, Varizh Varizh Rizki, and Dreamocel.
With this lineup, the team managed to advance to the playoffs and take first place, earning an invitation to the championship, which will take place in late 2026.
In addition, another major tournament was scheduled for the end of the year—the Esports Nations Cup with a prize pool of $1,500,000.
The players who regularly competed for the national team — Fbz and dalul—were joined by Mustofa jikroy Dzikri Pamungas, as well as Mikoto and Whitemon, who, thanks to their successful performances on the Tier 1 stage, earned Indonesia enough ranking points to secure a direct invitation to the tournament.
