History

Brazil is one of the strongest countries in South America in Dota 2. For many years, Brazilian players have been performing successfully on the international stage, and the national team regularly participates in major international tournaments.

2020–2023

After several successful performances in regional qualifiers, Brazil competed in the Global Esports Games 2021, where it won gold medals.

Over the years, the national team has featured Rodrigo Lelis Santos, Gustavo fcr Ribeiro, Matheus KJ Diniz, Guilherme Costabile Costabile, João 4nalog Gabriel Giannini, and other representatives of the Brazilian scene.

In 2022, the national team made its debut at the IESF World Esports Championship 2022, and just one year later, it ranked among the top eight teams at the Global Esports Games 2023.

2024–2025

In the years that followed, Brazil continued to regularly participate in international qualifiers.

The team was one step away from qualifying for the IESF World Esports Championship, but lost to Argentina in the final series.

In 2025, the national team finished in the top three at the IESF Americas B Qualifier 2025, fielding players from the local scene.

2026

A year later, organizers from Saudi Arabia announced the Esports Nations Cup with a prize pool of $1,500,000.

Filipe Astini Astini, who had previously worked with PARIVISION, Nouns, Team Nemesis, and other professional teams, became the head coach.

The final national team roster included Costabile, 4nalog, fcr, KJ and Thiago de Oliveira Thiolicor Cordeiro. Lelis and 4dr. were named as substitutes.

The roster was almost entirely made up of players who had previously represented the country at international tournaments.

Thanks to the players’ results on the Tier 1 scene, Brazil earned enough national ranking points to receive a direct invitation to the championship.
