History

Thunder Predator is a South American esports organization specializing in Dota 2 and based in Peru. It emerged through the rebranding of the team Thunder Awaken due to strong sponsorship support from the Acer Predator brand.

The initial roster consisted of all the players from the team before the rebranding: vanN, Ztok, mstco, and SMASH. In July, Greedy joined them, and together they secured 4th place at The Final Match Season 1 and 1st place at ProDotA Cup Americas #10. However, despite these good results, the entire roster disbanded in August.

For the next six months, Thunder Predator only sporadically competed in qualifiers without qualifying for major tournaments. A new Peruvian roster solidified in April 2018, with Jeimari being joined by Frank, Scofield, Prada, and Atun. The team immediately showcased strong performances in the open qualifiers for the China Dota 2 Supermajor and ESL One Birmingham 2018, finishing in 1st-2nd place in both events. However, they failed to advance to the main tournaments in the subsequent playoff qualifiers. The team also had a decent start in the North American qualifiers for The International 2018 but was disqualified in the third stage for using macros on Meepo and Armlet of Mordiggian.

After the season, roster changes occurred, and active players frequently shuffled until the confirmation of the roster for the qualifiers of The International 2019, which Thunder Predator failed to pass. On the other hand, they consistently secured first-place finishes in tier-3 tournaments, with notable examples being the World Cyber Games 2019 and Dota 2 Battle.

In November 2019, a promising roster formed under the leadership of Mjz. The revamped lineup elevated the team's performance to a higher level in 2020, consistently earning prize placements in fairly prestigious tournaments. Particularly successful were their performances at OGA Dota PIT S2: Americas and ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas, where they achieved 2nd place finishes.
