Bio

Mjz is a Peruvian esports player who competes in the professional Dota 2 scene as a support player. As a part of Thunder Predator, the Peruvian player managed to qualify for The International 2021 but did not win a single game in the tournament.

Mjz first tried his skills in the Dota 2 pro scene in 2016, participating in small online competitions and qualifiers for major tournaments. In 2017, he joined the main roster of Infamous but was kicked from the team after one and a half months, which marked the beginning of a series of transfers. Over the next 2 years, he played under more than ten different tags, occasionally returning to Infamous.

In 2019, Mjz qualified for his first major tournament, DreamLeague Season 11 | Qualifiers, where he reached the top 9-12 with Infamous. However, he was once again removed from the organization's roster. In the following months, the Peruvian support player joined Gorillaz-Pride and later joined Thunder Predator in July, where he stayed for over two years.

The Thunder Predator roster immediately showed strong performances, dominating their region. With Mjz, Thunder Predator secured more than fifteen first-place finishes in online tournaments during the COVID-19 pandemic era. When Valve introduced regional DPC leagues in 2021, Thunder Predator continued to showcase a high level of play, qualifying for the first Major of the season, ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. They reached the top 5-6, defeating teams like Team Aster and Virtus.pro. This allowed Thunder Predator to earn enough DPC points to directly qualify for The International 2021. However, at the main tournament, Mjz's team struggled and finished in last place without winning a single game, a situation that had not occurred at TI events since 2013.

After The International 2021, Thunder Predator disbanded their roster, but Mjz joined Lava with the same lineup. With this team, he played two more rounds in the South American DPC League Division 1 before transferring to Tempest. With Tempest, the Peruvian player achieved a top 3 finish in the South American qualifiers for The International 2022, which granted them a chance to participate in the Last Chance Qualifiers for TI2022.

In the period from 2021 to 2022 the player looked for his place in such teams as Lava Uphone, Tempest and Infamous, and in 2023 he joined Thunder Awaken. In his new team, Mjz played in various tournaments, took part in the regional DPC league, and qualified for The International 2023, where he finished in 20th place.

After failing at the main event of the year, Mjz left his previous team and tried out for BOOM Esports, Infinity Esports and Blacklist International, before joining Cuyes Esports. Under his new tag, Romel received a direct invitation to the closed qualification at the Riyadh Masters 2024, but fell out of the lower bracket in the second round. The team also went to qualify for The International 2024, where they managed to reach the closed stage, but failed to qualify for the main event.
