Bio

Andrey Afoninje Afonin is a Russian professional Dota 2 player, streamer, commentator and analyst.

He started his pro career in 2014 in NVMI, then in November Afoninje joined HellRaisers, where he immediately won a number of D3 tournaments, and in early 2015 he qualified for the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2015, where he finished in the top 12.

In the spring of 2016 Afoninje joined Polarity, with which he took 2nd place at BTS Europe #3. Then Andrei under the Rebels tag won the AOC Dota 2 Cup and ProDotA Cup Europe #13, and also became a finalist of Royal Arena Season 2. In 2017, he won the ProDotA Cup Europe #14 as part of Effect .

In October 2018, playing for ferzee, Andrei entered the top 2 at Reshuffle Madness, and then moved to Gambit Esports and reached the finals at The Bucharest Minor and ESL One Katowice 2019, won at WePlay Winter Madness and WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness, placed 3rd at World Electronic Sports Games 2018 and 8th at EPICENTER Major 2019.

In July 2019, Gambit Esports participated in The International 2019: Closed Qualifiers. In a match against Winstrike Team, Afoninje wrote "gg" in chat in the 33rd minute after dying and left the game. The organization fined the player for "rage out" and the community speculated that there was a conflict between Afoninje and Daxak. According to Afoninje and Fng himself, at the end of the match, Andrew asked everyone, "So, guys, are we pouring?", to which everyone was silent in response, after which he left the lobby. At the end of the summer Afoninje left the roster and then announced the end of his career.

In 2020 Afoninje began to spend more time on streaming and commentating matches. Andrey often appeared on official broadcasts as a guest, and he could also be seen on Nix's channel. In 2022 he joined FISSURE studio, where he covered The International 2022, The International 2023, DPC and majors.

Afoninje also succeeded in streaming: he gained more than 30 000 followers on his channel. From his streams appeared a lot of slices, as well as various memes.

At the end of 2023, Afoninje returned to the pro scene. In November, he joined 9Pandas, with which he qualified for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 and made it to the top 12. In 2024, Afoninje participated in Games of the Future 2024 with Echpo4mak , where he placed 13th-16th.
