Bio
Matthew Skyward Stanton is an American professional Dota 2 player with experience playing all five positions.
Skyward began his cybersport career in Dota 2 in November 2018 with the Moist Lads team. A year later, he earned his first cashes by finishing third at the 2019-2020 World Electronic Sports Games indoor qualifiers. In early 2020, Matthew joined Team Rejoin and became a bronze medalist in Underdogs League Season 2 Division A before leaving the team.
After leaving Team Re join,Skyward disappeared from the competitive Dota arena for two years. In March 2022, he joined Team 7:3 in an attempt to advance to the 2nd round of the DPC League, but lost in the close stage. Matthew also made a substitute appearance for 5ManMidas in the DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II, helping the team to a fourth place finish. After the league, he became a full-fledged member of the team, reaching the top-8 at the TodayPay Invitational Season 2 and 9th place at the BTS Pro Series Season 12: America.
During 2023, Skyward played for Eternity, The Oversight, TiltedBoys, Shuckle Reborn and Bullish on Gaming. With the latter, he won North American Dota Challengers League Season 4 Tournament #1 and #3, and placed fourth at the second tournament. In early 2024, he joined Fart Studios for the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22, where the team won the open stage but settled for the closed stage, finishing in 5th-6th place. In the spring of the same year, Skyward joined Degen Dinos, with whom he participated in the open qualifiers for Elite League, winning and advancing to the next stage. However, the team suffered two consecutive defeats at the closed qualifiers and dropped out of the qualifying stage, taking the last place in the standings.
