Bio
Alexey Solo Berezin is a Russian Dota 2 player and champion of ESL One New York 2015, ESL One Hamburg 2017 and The Kuala Lumpur Major. He started his professional career as a Midlaner in 2012, which is where his nickname "Solo" came from.
Alexey's first team was Moscow Five. After two tournaments, he moved to RoX. In 2013, one of the most scandalous incidents in the history of eSports related to match-fixing took place: during SLTV Star Series Season 6 RoX was supposed to play against zRage. At the time, the match had no effect on the teams' position in the standings, and during the game Solo offered to have some fun, which led to zRage's victory. It was soon discovered that Alexei had made a bet against his team on his girlfriend's account and won $322 by unfair means. Solo admitted to the cheating and claimed that he hid his actions from his teammates. This resulted in a fine for the team and Solo received a lifetime ban for some tournaments, which was later reduced to one year. After this scandal, the term "322" became synonymous with rigged matches, and Solo gained an unfortunate reputation as a cheater.
After the ban period, Solo returned to the scene and played for successful teams such as RoX, Team Empire, and Vega Squadron. As part of the latter team, he won ESL One New York 2015, placed 9-12 at Frankfurt Major 2015 and 3-4 at ESL One Frankfurt 2016, proving his gaming credentials.
To shake off his unfortunate reputation and become a Dota 2 legend, Solo joined Virtus.pro, where he became the team captain. Under his leadership, VP won five Major tournaments, took top spots in other Tier 1 tournaments, and reached 5-6 places at The International 2017 and 2018. After several consecutive losses, Solo left Virtus.pro in September 2020.
Together with No[o]ne and RAMZES666, Solo formed the Just Error team to participate in EPIC League Division 1. After an unsuccessful performance in this tournament, the team was disbanded. To participate in the new DPC season in 2021, Solo created a lineup of NoTechies with Crystallize, Ergon, Malik and Zayac. The team finished in last place in ESL One CIS Online Season 1: Upper Division and fell to the lower division. At ESL One Eastern Europe Online Season 2: Lower Division, NoTechies introduced their new lineup of layme, Dame, Fogas and XSVamp1Re. Despite Solo's advanced mix lineups, the results left much to be desired, so he became the captain of Natus Vincere in September 2021. Under his leadership, the team did not achieve much results: NaVi took 5th-6th place at Dota 2 Champions League Season 7, and the main success of the squad was the 2nd place at DPC EEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I and an invitation to PGL Arlington Major 2022, where the team took 13-14th place.
At the end of 2022 Alexey moved to HellRaisers, where he took first place at the Pinnacle Cup. Malta Vibes #1. After that, the guys from HellRisers created their own team 9 Pandas. Under the new tag Roman took third place at ESL One Berlin Major 2023 and 5-6 at Bali Major 2023. Also 9Pandas has already managed to participate in The International 2023, where they took 9-12th place. The team also participated in ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but did not achieve much results: the squad dropped out of the tournament after the group stage. Now Solo continues to play for 9Pandas, where he plays the role of captain.
In January 2024, Solo along with 9Pandas participated in the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22, where the team placed 5th-6th. Later, the team took part in the qualifiers for ESL One Birmingham, Elite League 2024, DreamLeague Season 23, and PGL Wallachia Season 1. 9Pandas managed to qualify for Elite League 2024, but was the first to be eliminated, taking ten thousand dollars from the prize pool.
In the summer of 2024, Solo participated in the qualifiers for Riyadh Masters 2024, The International 2024, and Elite League Season 2, but 9Pandas failed to qualify for any of these tournaments.
Later, the team took 5-6th place at European Pro League Season 21 and 22, and after 15-16th place at DreamLeague Season 25 9Pandas announced the disbanding of the Dota 2 roster.
He also joined the new Cyber Goose roster at the end of May and qualified for Riyadh Masters 2025 with the team. On June 23, 2025, the roster of Cyber Goose was signed by Team Yandex.
In early July, the team participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, where they performed poorly and failed to reach the playoff stage.
In July 2025, Team Yandex exited Riyadh Masters 2025, finishing in 11th place and earning $75,000 in prize money.
At the end of July 2025, Team Yandex took part in Clavision Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi. The team finished in 9th–10th place and earned $24,500. In August, Solo left the team.
In early March, he became part of the Team Shpilit media team, where within a month of competition he placed 7-8 at CCT Season 2 Series 8, finished in the top 3 at Streamers League Season 1, and also participated in PREMIER SERIES: Play-In.
At the end of March, Solo announced that the project would be put on hold.
