Bio

Dmytro 'Droog' Chumachenko is a Dota 2 and CS:GO commentator from Ukraine. He worked at two tournaments of The International series.

He got acquainted with Dota in 2007, but started covering cyber sports matches much later. Dmytro is a radio and TV journalist by education, for some time he commented on basketball on regional television. In February 2015, he created his own amateur studio "Players TV", which covered major tournaments on Dota 2.

Six months later Dmitry was invited to Game Show Studio, where he worked on Dota and Counter-Strike championships. In May 2016, he moved to StarLadderTV - his debut for Droog was the cast of the European qualification SL i-League StarSeries Season 2. In the 2016/17 season he commentated matches of both majors, in Boston and Kiev, and in the summer he took part in The International 2017 for the first time.

For the next two years Dmitry was consistently part of the coverage team for StarLadder and BeyoundTheSummit tournaments, as well as working on WePlay events as a guest commentator. Droog also received an invite to TI8 and was part of the main tournament of the year for the second consecutive year. But as SLTV began to drop its own tournaments and rights to third-party championships (for example, Chumachenko only worked five events in 2019), Valve turned its attention to other commentators.

In early 2020, Droog followed the other SLTV casters to the Maincast studio, where he still works. He commentated Dota Pro Circuit 2021 matches in Europe, CIS and Asia, and took part in ONE Esports covering ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 and WePlay AniMajor.Dmitry also works as a studio host at CS:GO tournaments.
From time to time he shoots episodes of youtube show "1vs9", where he asks representatives of the cybersports community the most acute and negative questions from the comments.
