Bio
Kevin Purge Godetz is an American commentator, analyst and former professional player.
He became famous after creating his website "PurgeGamers", where Kevin shared various Dota 2 tutorials for new players.
He first became interested in DotA:Allstars after accidentally stumbling upon it in a list of custom Warcraft III maps. After spending a long time playing a new game, in 2011 he decided to start his own youtube channel where he showed his gameplay.
After switching to Dota 2 Purge started to organize small tournaments and matches. In August 2012 he was invited to The International 2012 to conduct post-match interviews. Hosted the official broadcast of The International 2014 at Valve's request, designed to educate players unfamiliar with Dota 2. After performing well, he was invited to every subsequent tournament of the year, but as a host, commentator and analyst. During his career he covered many Tier-1 tournaments.
In early 2014 he tried his hand as a professional player, joining the Zephyr team for the fifth position, where he played with SexyBamboe, Blitz, Eosin. The team played in Southeast Asia and together with Purge managed to win Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3, Korean Dota League Tier 1. Six months later, Kevin became the organization's manager until early 2015.
Since then, Purge has continued to broadcast on his personal twitch channel, where he plays mostly Dota 2.
In 2024, as a member of Vegetables Esports Club, Kevin participated in the open qualifiers for ESL One: Birmingham 2024, where he placed 5th. In the summer of the same year, Purge was nominated for analyst of the year at the Esports Awards 2024.
