Bio

Jose Francisco Shaka Vergara Rivera is a Peruvian professional Dota 2 player who plays the Full-support position.

Shaka made his professional debut in 2019. His Dota 2 career started slowly with participation in one qualification per year. In 2022, Jose started competing regularly in professional competitions, trying to qualify for the DPC as part of the Shark Boys team and reached the finals of LATAM Rookie Challenge 2 with the Demonios team, after which they were signed by the Balrogs organization. With the new squad, the team qualified for the DPC league and finished second at the EPL World Series: America Season 2.

In early 2023, Shaka and the team reached the finals of the TodayPay Invitational Season 3 and LATAM Rookie Challenge 4, and finished third at the DPC SA 2023 Tour 1: Division II. Before the next league season, the team competed at the TodayPay Invitational Season 4 and 1XPLORE LATAM #1, placing second, and won LATAM Rookie Challenge 5. In April, the Shaka-led team placed second at the DPC SA 2023 Tour 2: Division II, winning $16,000 and earning a promotion to Division 1. In December 2023, Shaka joined Silk.

In 2024, Silk participated in the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22, but was defeated by Thunder Awaken and Invaders after advancing to the closed stage, leading to its elimination from the competition. The team also tried to qualify for ESL One Birmingham 2024, but failed to beat other South American teams.
